Our Story

The Foundation was created to help close that gap.

The Positiv Foundation was created from a simple belief: access to the right information, support and community can change the trajectory of someone’s life.

Too often, conversations about sexual health begin after someone is already navigating a diagnosis, difficult experience or life-changing decision. We believe education should come earlier.

Beginning in Philadelphia, our work focuses on creating inclusive sexual health education, mentorship opportunities and community wellness initiatives that give young people and adults the knowledge, confidence and support to advocate for themselves.

Our goal isn’t simply to provide information. It’s to create spaces where people feel comfortable asking questions, learning without judgment and making informed decisions about their futures.

Lauren Harcum

Lauren Harcum is the founder and heart behind The Positiv Foundation, created from her belief that education, community, and compassion can change the trajectory of someone’s life. A Philadelphia native and graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls, Lauren is passionate about creating the kind of spaces where young people feel informed, supported, and comfortable asking the questions that too often go unanswered. Through The Positiv Foundation, she is turning that passion into action by expanding access to inclusive sexual health education, mentorship, and community wellness—starting in the city that raised her.
